Title of position:      

                                  Green Team Crewmember

Activities and responsibilities:

               Green Team crewmembers will experience hands-on learning while working outdoors and acquiring new skills caring for conservation and agricultural lands. Service may involve activities such as raking, trimming, digging, seeding, weeding, invasive species removal, and trash pickup. Crewmembers will all meet at the Wildlands Trust office and then be transported via staff vehicles, focusing on different sites daily. Crewmembers will be meeting with various professionals, learning from them, and participating in hands-on activities. Green Team crewmembers will learn about the many varied landscapes of southeastern Massachusetts and how each of these properties have unique management needs, depending on natural resources, land use, and potential threats to conservation.

Location and schedule:

675 Long Pond Road – Plymouth, MA
Monday, Wednesday and Friday Mornings, 9:00am – 1:00pm
Time commitment: July 11th through July 22nd, Monday,Wednesday and Friday mornings 9am-1pm

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 14 years of age.
  •  Ability to follow direction and work in a team setting.
  • Ability to work outdoors daily in changing weather conditions.
  • Ability and willingness to perform physical labor including (but not limited to)kneeling, walking, hiking, and carrying tools.

Training provided:

Exposure to working in the conservation/environmental/agricultural fields.
Experience doing land stewardship work and using hand tools. Crewmembers who
perform well will be considered for paid summer stewardship positions once over 18
years of age.
