Full Moon Hike

Join hike leaders Skip Stuck and Betsy Hall for Wildlands' first full moon hike of 2024. We will enjoy February's Snow Moon while walking the beach at Shifting Lots Preserve which provides open skies for a stunning view of the moon. As you arrive, the sun will set then we will admire the moon as it rises over the ocean. Afterwards, enjoy hot chocolate in the parking lot before heading home.

From Route 3: Take Exit 3 (old Exit 2) and head east to the stop sign at Route 3A. Turn left on Route 3A and go about 2 miles. Turn right onto Ellisville Road at the second entrance, then turn left down Salt Marsh Lane (gravel). Drive to the end of Salt Marsh Lane to parking area.

What to Wear & Bring:

  • Sturdy, closed-toed shoes

  • Warm clothes - it is windy at the ocean! We recommend covering all exposed skin.

  • Thermos for hot chocolate - optional

What to Expect:

  • 2 miles of walking on sand and rocks

Restrictions:

  • No pets

  • Ages 10+

  • Limit 15 participants

Outdoor programs are weather permitting. Cancellations and postponements due to weather will be announced online and registered attendees will be notified via email.
