Whip-poor-will Walk

  • Myles Standish State Forest Headquarters 194 Cranberry Road Carver, MA, 02330 United States (map)

Please Note: This program has been postponed from June 13 to June 20.
Join Wildlands Trust and the Friends of Myles Standish State Forest with birding specialist Glenn d'Entremont to listen for early summer birds as dusk approaches. While whip-poor-wills are becoming rare in the Northeast, Myles Standish is a stronghold for this remarkable bird, containing some of their favorite habitat. Their whip-poor-will call can be heard for hours during the breeding season. We are likely to hear the beautiful song of the hermit thrush as well.
