Green Team 2019 RFP

Does your organization have a conservation project that you need help with this summer? Call on the Wildlands Trust Summer Green Team!

Each year, Wildlands Trust recruits and trains middle and high school students for our Green Team Program, a summer service learning opportunity for teens to engage in environmental learning and volunteerism. Alongside Wildlands Trust staff, Green Team Crewmembers complete meaningful volunteer projects for nonprofits and governmental conservation organizations in Southeastern MA, while meeting and learning from professionals in the field. Each age group is made up of 11 Crewmembers accompanied by 2-3 Wildlands Trust supervisors.

Trail building, habitat restoration, organic farming, and water quality testing are great examples of meaningful volunteer projects Green Team Crewmembers have completed in the past. Projects must be able to be completed with hand tools only, and we ask that all project proposals contain an educational component about land, water, and wildlife conservation and/or organic agriculture. Educational components can be incorporated into the project itself or in addition to the project. Examples of educational components that are in addition to projects would include a wildlife program, a themed hike, or a farm tour. The project and educational component should both be a good fit for your unique organization!

Please let us know about your project proposal to get your name in the running for Green Team 2019!
