Summer of Service - Gardening

  • Wildlands Trust, Inc. 675 Long Pond Road Plymouth, MA, 02360 United States (map)

Need community service hours for school? Considering a career in the environmental field? Just want to meet new people and get outside? If any of these sound like you, make your summer a Summer of Service with Wildlands Trust! These free, flexible, one-day programs will equip high school students (ages 14-19) with the basic skills and knowledge that underpin all conservation work—all in a relaxed, introductory format. Come to just one or two programs, or, better yet, join them all! Students who come to three or more will receive Wildlands swag!

Send your natural curiosity into full bloom with our Gardening program on Thursday, August 10!

Join us at Davis-Douglas Farm in Plymouth, where you’ll get your green thumbs dirty in our community garden. In addition to learning how to care for a garden, you’ll explore some of the pollinators that our garden needs and supports. The day will last for about 2 hours—come between 9:45 and 10:00 am for introductions, and stay until noon for a snack!

This will be the longest program of the summer, lasting from 9:45 am until about 3 pm. Snacks will be provided, but students should bring a bagged lunch.
