About Ellisville Marsh:
Ellisville Marsh hosts a rich diversity of bird species and has been designated by Mass Audubon as a Massachusetts Important Bird Area (IBA). Its adjacent beaches include nesting areas for threatened shorebirds such as Piping Plovers and Least Terns that are protected during the summer months. Early May is a great time to see migrating birds on their stopover to nesting grounds in the far north as well as birds that nest around the marsh or on the barrier beach.
