Join the Town of Rockland and Wildlands Trust for an evening of grassland restoration and invasive plant removal. You’ll be removing invasive plants and restoring natural grassland. You will be getting experience with a variety of tools used in invasive plant management and learn identification and removal skills.

Registration is required; limit 10 participants

Skills Addressed:

-Proper hand tool use and safety (loppers,weed wrench, iron rakes, shovels, handsaws, hand snips)

-Invasive plant identification

-Techniques in invasive plant removal

What to Wear and Bring: 

  • Sturdy, closed-toed shoes

  • Long pants

  • Water, 1-2 bottles 

  • Snacks 

  • Work gloves (if you have them, we will provide work gloves to anyone who needs them) 

Environmental Hazards:

  • Hot weather

  • Uneven terrain

  • Ticks

  • Poison Ivy

  • Biting insects (mosquitos, horseflies, etc)

Restrictions: 

  • Ages 16+ 

  • No pets
