Women's Woodworking Workshop

Are you looking to build up your skills in carpentry surrounded by other like-minded women and non-binary folks? What about building your skills WHILE contributing to Willow Brook Farm’s preserve restoration work?

Wildlands Trust’s Stewardship Programs Manager Zoë Smiarowski and volunteer Lenna Matthews are co-leading a training in carpentry skills, organized specifically for women and non-binary individuals! The goal of this class is to break down barriers and increase participants comfort handling tools and using tools. Our hope is attendees will leave the class feeling confident to tackle projects at home (or even better, with a local non-profit!)

Participants will:

-Become familiar with common carpentry tools such as saws, drills, etc.

-Meet like-minded women and non-binary folks who are excited to learn a collaborative environment

-Be instructed by women with a variety of carpentry project experience

-Use carpentry tools to build a planter box which will be sold to support our Willow Brook Farm Preserve fundraising campaign

Cost: $15 (All proceeds will go towards the Willow Brook Farm Preserve fundraising campaign)

Time: 10:00 AM-2:00 PM

Parking:

The Stewardship Training Center is located at 549 Mast Road Plymouth, MA 02360. Please follow the signs to the visitor parking lot.

What to wear and bring:

  • Sturdy, closed-toed shoes/boots

  • No loose and/or dangling jewelry

  • Hair tie for long hair to be tied back

Restrictions:

  • Ages 16+

  • Limit 10 participants
