Join Wildlands Trust as we prepare you to hike the first 6 miles of 8 Ponds Pass. 8 Ponds Pass is a 17.4 mile out-and-back trail that connects several Wildlands Trust and Town of Plymouth preserves. Throughout a few planned hikes, you can hike sections of 8 Ponds Pass. This will lead to a final one-way, 6-mile hike from Beaver Dam Road to Davis-Douglas Farm on Saturday, June 21 - the day of Wildlands’ Solstice Celebration! There are two hikes before the 6-mile hike on Saturday, June 21. The first (this one!) takes you 2.5 miles round trip on Sunday, May 4. The second, will take you 4 miles round trip on Sunday, June 1. You do not need to attend all the hikes to sign up!
This first hike will be 2.5 miles from Beaver Dam Road to the boulders at Pickerel Cove and back. We will hike over varied, uneven, sandy, and pine needle-covered terrain. Hike leader Ryley Newton and Programming Coordinator Amy Burt will guide you on this hike.
We will meet at Davis-Douglas Farm before shuttling over to the Beaver Dam Conservation Area trailhead to start our out-and-back hike and shuttle back to Davis-Douglas Farm.*
